Re: What is the most redneck thing you have ever done to a c
This thread is supposed to be something to be ashamed about. The story of the bad fuel pump is something to be proud of. As Hank Jr. said, "' a country boy will survive".

What is the most redneck thing you have ever done to a car?
I had a red 1964 Caliente Comet, 260/4speed that I bought second hand in 1965. I was taking home about $40 a week, 18 and fresh out of high school, but hey, I had a nice car. Scavenger pipes are what they were called and they were just chrome tail pipes about 30 inches long and the end was belled ou...

Re: Rescued these parts today...
I painted my thin whitewall on my '64 Comet with a red marker so I would have thinline red wall tires. They actually sold a marking pen made for that purpose in 1965. I have been a redneck for a long, long time!

Re: 1950's-6O's New Car Model Intro at Dealerships
In the early 60's, the town I grew up in had only about 5,000 population but had a Ford dealership as well as a Chevy, a Pontiac, and a Buick/Oldsmobile dealership. All had their new models come out about the same week. I was 13-14 years old and we boys all talked of getting out of school that eveni...

I love my Falcon with 3.80 and 5 speed. Decent gas mileage too.

Re: 66 Caliente unibody floor
Be sure you have it supported and not in a twist when you weld the floor boards in. Check everything twice and then weld. It may stay square when you cut everything out but it is better to be safe than sorry.

I went to pure-gas.org and California has 18 stations with 100% gas, while Georgia has 393. Treehuggers!

Pop, are you running real 100% gas or the ethanol blend? Ethanol defiantly gets less mpg.

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Roy, this Comet show is just a bunch of Comets parked on the grass at a motel, much more southern style laid back than you are probably familiar with. No gate to enter or registration to fill out. If anyone is going to stop and view the Comets they will have to pull into the motel's parking lot or p...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
I have been going off and on to the major car shows in Pigeon Forge for the last 15-20 years. I went last fall to the Shades of the Past car show and it was terrible. Three lanes of traffic bumper to bumper for miles. It would take over an hour to go through Pigeon Forge. There were a lot, and I mea...

Re: Need tire incormation
My high school English teacher in 1964, required her class to do all homework and test in ink. You would fail her test if you used a pencil. If you made a mistake, you marked through it. The cartridge ink pen was the rage and if you ran out she had bottles of ink on the widow ledge and a hypodermic ...

Fair enough, Tbart. There is a lot of truth in what you say. I have my guns and my old car....and want to keep them, too!

Re: OT; Ammo
I still stand by for what I said. Follow the money trail. Behind closed doors the gun manufacture's CEO'S and the NRA love him. New factories, running 2nd and 3rd shift. Capitalism runs on supply and demand. There is a reason that you can't buy .22's. Even after adding shifts the demand is too much....

Re: OT; Ammo
He is not the greatest gun and ammunition salesman in history...it is the "fear" of him that the gun manufacturers and the NRA are using to boost sales and membership. They are the one who are profiting from the scare. Gun manufactures are building new plants and working 2nd and 3rd shifts. Guns and...
