69 wire loom

For my 69 SCJ Cyclone I'm needing a source for the woven cloth loom used in the trunk area.
Must be factory appearing as original.
Thanks

Re: Idler arm 1964

Sorry for not responding but have been real busy. Thanks for all guidance regarding my idler arm issue. I could not find a bushing replacement so I went the expensive route with a new Rare Parts idler arm. Now to get it installed and wait for warmer weather to drop the top and take it for a ride! Th...

Idler arm 1964

Who has replaced their idler arm on a V8 power steering 64 Comet? 64 is completely different from a 65. How about a bushing kit, has anyone rebuilt one? I have ordered from some suppliers including Rare Parts and have never received the correct one. Who out there has had success with this part? Than...

Re: 64 Comet drives like crap

Hi John, glad to hear it all worked out. The AOD sounds interesting. Did it fit the transmission tunnel or did you have to modify it. I'm looking to upgrade my convert and have given this swap some thought. Mike

Re: Father and Son Comet Project (with photos)

Yes I have a 64 convert with bucket seats, console and 289 4v and automatic. Sorry to say but it is totally rust free and was repainted in 1969. I bought it from a lady in Vandalia Il in 1988. My dad was born and raised in New Athens. Mike

Re: New from Southern Illinois

Hi Roy and thanks. I've seen your car a lot on a few sites and I hope you can make it to Bowling Green this year. We have not missed the event since it started. We don't race there because there is so much to see and good racing to watch. My racing consists of mostly all Ford races and Nostalgia rac...

New from Southern Illinois

After making a post elsewhere I thought I would say Hi. I'm a long time Comet fan going back to my 64 Caliente 4 speed car in '73. Sold it in '77 and bought my 64 convertable in '88 and my '64 Cyclone in '91. The Cyclone is a street/strip car with a mild 351 and runs 12:10. Also have a '69 Cyclone S...

Re: 64 Comet Rack and Pinion conversion

I contacted Unisteer today and as I thought, the u-joint needs to be approx 1 1/2" from the firewall to make the angle to the rack. He stated that IDIDIT aftermarket columns with auto shift linkage will work. I have a call into them now. I'm not really wanting to change to an aftermarket column as t...
