Re: SHIFT KNOB
Brown is correct and yes they are hard to find. I paid dearly for one several years ago as my Cyclone was missing the correct knob.

Re: Sassy's Steering
Are you staying in the frozen North this Winter Fred? The 64 to 65 steering should be a nice upgrade. The 64 steering is weird. Hope all is well? Brian

Re: Nice 65 Cyclone at Mecum in Jan
I wanted to like the car but I don't. The very first statement about a comprehensive restoration turned me off. Don't call it a restoration when it is not. Too many changes from stock in my opinion. The steering is a definite no go for me. Why the ugly valve covers and radiator but a stock air clean...

Re: Calendars?
Sorry to hear that Mike. Hope things are ok with you? If it's not to late you could put out a "last" call? I was hoping for the Roy Pool tribute idea. So many good pics of his car. Brian

Hey Mike,
Just wondering how you are doing with the calendars? Anything the members can do to help?

Sad to hear that Ron passed away. I had my chance to meet him in person at Roy's memorial last year and never was able to that day. Brian

Re: Heat Shrink hose clamps
Hello Lou. These days on modern diesels the temperature and pressure are virtually the same as a conventional gasoline engine. They run them HOT now. To me it just not work the risk of an upper or lower hose coming off. That could be catastrophic in a hurry if all sudden of the coolant on the freewa...

Re: Heat Shrink hose clamps
Not to be a stick in the mud but we have seen these fail way to often on large trucks in my city where I am the fleet manager. International trucks love them and they have failed way to many times. We replace the hose and use constant tension hose clamps and problems are gone. No way I would put the...

Re: CALENDAR PICTURE SUBMISSIONS
Hey Mike. Do you have enough pictures of Roy? I have several but they may or may not be what you already have? I am going to purchase 6 calendars.
Thank you,
Brian

Re: Mercury Meteors
My first car was a 63 Mercury Meteor S22 with a 260 and a 4 speed. I think it was actually fairly rare to be a Meteor with a 4 speed? I had it a couple years and sold it to buy a 70 Torino with a 351C 4V 4 speed car. I wish I still had both of them. The Meteor had a great bucket seat and console in...

Re: 1965 Comet durability challenge
A very long time ago one was in the Harrah's collection in Reno. I wanted to crawl under the ropes to look at it! All those cars were sold many years ago to who knows where?

Re: Interesting Leaf Spring Info
When I put new rear leafs in my stock 65 Cyclone I used Eaton Detroit Spring. They sat pretty high so I put several bags of lead shot in the trunk until it sat like I wanted. I left it that way all Winter. After removing the shot it stayed virtually the same and is still the same over 10 years later...
