A couple more pics of her rolling before she went off to the body shop. I can't believe it's been 17 years since I bought this car

Re: Slowly restoring my 66 Comet Caliente
So I got the front suspension back in the car and this past Monday my car was towed to another body shop. They're friends of a friend and seem positive about doing the car so I'm hopeful it gets done this time! Here's a couple pics of the floor. Not too bad I think. I spent a few hours the other nig...

Re: Slowly restoring my 66 Comet Caliente
Are you going to leave the whole car bone stock? Not many are left that way now days. I always get Input from buddy's on what they would do if it was their car. Once in awhile I get a good idea from one. Matt As bone stock as I can do it, yes. I'm weird like that lol. The cloth inserts on the seats...

Re: Slowly restoring my 66 Comet Caliente
Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments. One good thing is my car is basically stripped right down and I have all my parts bagged and tagged in boxes so I won't have to chase anyone down looking for stuff. The only things really left in the car are glass, wiring and the rear end. The engine is gett...

Yup I think the original owner little old lady missed her regular oil changes and maintenance.Loner wrote:Only 64,000 original miles but there's a ridge on the cylinders.
I bet someone didn't change the oil enough or ran it with a dirty air cleaner or without one at all.

Re: Slowly restoring my 66 Comet Caliente
It looks like a piece of crap now but I can see it done in my head. Bone stock 289 2bbl. Stock cam, skinny bias plys, factory color and single exhaust. I've only seen 3 other 66 Comets in Winnipeg since I got this car 17 years ago. I know it's not a high dollar rare car but whatever. I love this thi...

Re: Slowly restoring my 66 Comet Caliente
Well two and a half years have come and gone...and I have to get my car because the body guy is telling me it might be a couple years before he gets to my car. Ya right. Got another guy coming to look at it and hopefully he can do it.

Sorry, I meant the silver surround part that the bulb sits in. I can't attach a picture for some reason
