Re: Straight Axle
Sad to say I got a Cheby truck axle under one of my comets. When it comes time to build it I may swap it to ford. To me the speedway round axle does not look correct.

Re: 15" Tire question for A/FX build
Let us know what you come up with. I am doing a similar build. I moved the leaf springs in ,using a 57, 9 inch, uncut. I am looking for stock wheels with a lot of BS that do not have the 10 hole lug pattern.

Re: survey
Looks like the do not cut, Vote wins it. I was leaning that way to but needed the support. So I bought a 60 Ranchero straight axle to satisfy my gasser craving . The gasser crowd is a great group , equal to this Comet crowd. Check out the you tube video Greer dragway 2nd hot rod revival , Im driving...

Re: Radiator
I agree with the champion radiator. I got 3 and they work well and are cheep on ebay. I also use a corrosion rod in place of the drain plug. I do not fully understand it but there is electrical fluting going on with the aluminum radiator. I have read that grounding should be done at the trans to help,

Re: 64 gasser
Love the gassers. Thinking about putting a straight axle under my cyclone to southeastern gasser specs . Its just killing me to cut up a cyclone. Good luck. If you put a straight axle in it it has to have a clutch,(imo).

I will be starting my 64 cyclone project in January. I plan to build a mean small block with a 4 speed. Will mostly be 1/8 mile drag. Im torn between building a gasser (straight axle) or a as modified original as would be in the 60s. I love the gassers but hate to cut a cyclone. SO , What would you b...

Re: Drive Train Swap
I put an explorer 8.8 rear in my 63 fairlane. 31 spline, 373 gear , limited slip, n disc brakes. Just cut drivers side down to passenger side lenth and install a passenger side axle in. will work with overdrive, but more gear is better.

Re: Hipo 302 Carb Suggestion
I really like my quick fuel carb. I use a 670 w/vac sec. on a 306 w/550 lift cam. For race I do agree with 750 DP, and go chokeless. That's what I used years ago on a 289 drag car . worked well despite most said it would be to big.
