Steering box
The steering in my 64 comet is really sloppy, the steering wheel almost goes a quarter turn before anything starts happening. I am looking to change all the tie rods etc, as the parts are readily available. If it is the steering box i have not seen where to get a new one or anything else. Anyone hel...

Re: Intake manifold identification
Thanks for the info. I am actually hoping it is the 260, I enjoy rare and quirky. Not alot of 260's out there, i figure alot of them were yanked long ago for more power. So I think I will just get another 2 barrel carb and throw it on. The one on there now, leaks gas like crazy and the cars stalls c...

Re: 1964 Canadian comet vin decoding
Thanks alot, looks like my car came with a 260 with a 2 barrel carb on it. Just have to verify if that is the 260 still in there and not a 289poboyjo65 wrote:found this;

What i have figured out is 1963 Intermediate car 9425 meaning intake and the G meaning comet, i believe. D...

Hello i am from British Columbia in Canada. I acquired a 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente. It is a Canadian model with either a 260 or 289, havent pulled the started to check the numbers yet. I tried to attach a picture but it said "the board attachment quota has been reached"
