Mysterious pools of oil in the front crevices of intake
The gnomes really must have a hard on for me. In the front of my intake, two crevices near thermostat housing, and one crevice by the distributor, I have a persistent pool of what I think is oil. When I wiped my intake down, it reappears a few days later. The weird thing is, these pools of oil are a...

squeaking upper a-arm..do I wrap dirty wd-40 soak gym socks?
besides replacing the upper a-arm shaft with one with zerks, is there old school techniques to stop the squeaking. I've heard of soaking socks in wd-40 and wrapping them around the shaft.... Does the mustang share the same a-arm shaft? I believe the falcon does.' Is there a difference between v8 and...

Re: gas disappearing overnight from fuel bowl
You guys made my morning. Yes, I've let it sit overnight and opened up the carb to find the bowl empty. When I park on my sloped driveway with the gas tank higher, it tends to start up quicker. I was thinking it's something with my carb needle. How long does fuel vaporize from the heat of my motor? ...

gas disappearing overnight from fuel bowl
Ok. My comet runs amazing once I get it started (all though its starting to make a washing machine noise) Here's what I've done. 1. dropped my tank...not rusty nor dirty 2. replaced brass float and the nylon intake sleeve 3. New rubber line from gas tank to fuel line. 4. new rubber line from fuel li...

suggestions on yellow valve cover paint and engine bay
I guess I can eye it, but I thought I'd see what other people have done. I bought my wagon with a rebuilt motor painted ford blue. I want to spray my engine bay the og correct colors. Looking for suggestions on the valve covers/air filter and the engine bay. (I found something on Macs auto, but I'm ...

Protecting the drip rail on a comet wagon
I'm stoked to have no major rust (appears to be ) on my drip rails of my 1965 comet 404 wagon. All though I live a few blocks from the beach, I keep my wagon covered basically whenever I park it. (It's almost an OCD thing). Whenever it does rain in So-Cal, I add a protective tarp. Is there any prote...

late 1965 wheels and newer
I just put on disk brakes and my original wheels rub on the caliber. I guess they went to a slightly different wheel in 1965 to accommodate disk brakes. Looking for a set.
Needs to be close to LA County.
thanks,
Ed

Re: Drum pulling to the left
Ok. I decided to ditch the drum and splurge on discs. (I have a five month baby) Talked to a dude at O'Reillys (different from the O'Reilly where I had my drums turned). He thinks my drums either or too thin or one is overturned. If that's the case, I'll get a refund and my sanity back. While I was ...

Drum pulling to the left
recently replaced all my wheel cylinders, turned the drums, new rubber hoses front to back, dual master cylinder, and power booster from ABS. adjusted and bled my brakes. Car stops perfectly and after a few days starts to pull to the left. Turns out my brand new wheel cylinder was leaking. In a hurr...
