Re: Straight Axle

I put an econoline axle in my '63 last spring. Take 7" out of the middle and it will put the springs right under the frame rails. I used the stock econo drums because I like the period look, and cause I now have the same size brakes as a galaxie. The stock steering box works well, look at all the ro...

Re: How to boost up a 1964 260 cu.in. motor?

I saw an article in Drag Strip magazine from the spring of '66 about a guy tearing up the classes with a 260. It was a factory V8 '63 ranchero that he bored .060, added the whole list of parts available from Shelby at the time, and was turning mid 12's. It had 12:1 compression, the HiPo heads and ca...

Re: 62 or 63 Comet S-22 on Speed channel commercial

Pretty sure it's a '63. It's got a big 385 series and a beefed C6 from what I can remember when they interviewed the guy. It was pretty rough.

That white wagon has a stroked 351 and runs 11's. They featured it in Car Craft a while back.

I like it a lot, just wish they would put an FE in it instead of that stinkin mod motor. Those things just never sound good to me.

Judd, try using the pedal on the left. It should help your transmission woes lol.

Driveability is in the eye of the driver. I drive mine to work an average of three days a week until it starts frosting in the mornings. Usually everyday when it's warmer. It was cold this morning with no heater in Ohio!

I think I'll just keep saving for that forged lightweight bottom end so my 289 doesn't end up like that.

I've got 235/60-15's on mine, mounted on 15x5 galaxie steelies. They draw the sidewalls in enough that I could probably run 245's.

Following in Sassy's footsteps

I'm new here but I'm pretty nuts over Comets, especially the '60-'65 models. Maybe if I post some pics of mine it will get you guys to post some of yours, so here goes. This is the car that started it all. I bought it in '05 and drove it for a year, took some of the hack mechanic stuff off it and ad...

It was originally a 170ci/3-spd column shift car. I've done the usual heater/radio/back seat delete and mustang buckets, as well as what you can see in the picture. The next changes are lexan windows, remove rear window cranks, teardrop bubble and ram-air, and I'm putting 4.11 gears and trac-lok in ...
