Re: Awesome Bill

That is a '62 Fairlane, a '63 doesn't have the cut back into the fender at the grill.

Re: Factory 2V aluminum intake on 260??

I was tidying up under the hood and noticed that the intake manifold finish looked slightly different than the block. On a whim I touched it with a magnetic pick up tool. It ain't a cast iron manifold. So, my question is - Did a 260V8 with a 2V 2100 in a 2 door 1963 Custom have a factory aluminum m...

Re: Track Report

We ran dirt for some time back in the late sixties and early seventies. In the early days many of the cars were hauled in on log trucks and there was always a ramp dug back into a bank somewhere to unload the cars.

Re: radiator question for my .060 over 289

.060 is a pretty large bore for a 289, that alone can cause some overheating. I'm like the other poster, I would check with a probe or direct guage before I bought new radiator.

Re: More Snow Again! Yuk!

We have about 3 inches of partly cloudy on the ground here in N GA and it was about 6 degrees this morning when I got up. It is nice out now and is up to about 32. Lots of folks not use to snow in Atlanta and even the move ins here in the mountains but I'm have no trouble getting around in my Expedi...

Re: Wheel & Tire Size Pole

A little smartA$$ remark here. No bigger than 15" wheels and if the tires don't scrub somewhere, they aren't big/tall enough. All kidding aside, I like a full wheel well on Comets and Falcons. I remember running crome reverses and F-70s back in the old days and later Keystone mags. Backspacing is ve...

Re: Large Ford Car Show

There was an estimated 1500 cars at the Moonshine Festivel this year. Lots of Fords, I saw several nice Falcons and Comets. I talked with Hubert and got a signed poster. This is a must see event if you are a Ford fan.

Re: VFN 1965 Comet fiberglass flat hood

Sounds like most of the car I'm working on, it is all used parts except for the cam and lifters. It is an old sedan body with some rust. It is going to be a drag car only and paint is optional on this build.

Re: VFN 1965 Comet fiberglass flat hood

I don't have any experience with the VFN hood but might be interested in your old twin scoop hood if you make the switch and the old one is reasonable. Where are you located?

Re: Inspiration from Dyno Don

The last time I saw the Dyno '65 car was at Yellow River Dragstrip near Atlanta, GA. It was sitting under a shade tree with the front cover off the Cammer and Don was working on it. That was some of the best years of Drag Racing. Dyno, Bonner, Beswick, Platt(both) and so many more kept us standing w...

Re: 64 Comet - Factory Four Speed Toploader?

I've had three '65 Falcons all with t-10s. I guess the same is true for the Comets, my Comets have all been automatics. barrys65clyclone may have the correct answer about the top loader. If you hot rod it much the top loader is a much better trans. Did all '64s all have the narrow bolt pattern? Just...

Re: Mustang Disc Brakes

Thought I would let you all know it's back to the Granada brakes now. My buddy has decided to hold on to the Mustang disc set up. Is there anything new that I need to be looking for in this swap?? I will be using the stock '65 Comet 6cyl. steering with Mustang Steve's adapter sleeves on the tie rod ...

Re: FalconParts.com

I would like to use Melvins as they are close and I could always go and pick up my stuff. I looked up the prices at both Melvins and FalconParts and found the following: Melvins: FalconParts Export brace $115 $ 80 Rounded off to nearest dollar. Cross brace front $ 80 $ 62 Monte Carlo bar $40 $ 60 C-...
