Re: Lavron's '64 Build Thread
I used a conversion u-joint on the aluminum DS with a yoke that fit the T5. Like yours, my crown vic yoke did not fit. I think I have an extra set of bolts for the rear flange, if you need them, PM me.

PM sent Fred. I think I was putting the message subject in the To: space. That'll teach me for not paying attention.

Re: A weak moment
I've been asked a few times if I would sell my comet. My answer is, everything is for sale, but some things are priced higher than they ought to be, due to sentimental reasons. I've put so much work into it, I would only part with it for a ridiculous number. Because, once it's gone, what else is the...

Fred, I have a pair of 65 spindles I won't be using. Let me know if you want them.
I tried using the PM system, but it kept saying that Sassy didn't exist as a user!

I had a Maverick 8" before I went to the Explorer 8.8. Pretty much a direct fit. Use the Maverick spring plates.

Re: Help Identify Ring Terminal
Looks to me like thats the original charging circuit wire. It would have come from the generator and run up to the ammeter in the dash and then back to the starter solenoid. When the alternator was install they likely just ran a new heavier wire straight to the battery.

I wanted the bluetooth because there really isn't a place to set your phone when you have it plugged in to aux cord when you're bouncing around a field. I think I paid just over $100 CAD for it. I haven't received it yet, but it ...

Apparently not overly heavy, 900-950 lbs (without all that combat related stuff!)
Originally designed as a V12 aircraft engine, it was a pretty fancy engine for a tank!

Re: Tie Rod End replacement for a 1964 Comet
Not sure if was mentioned above, but 6 cylinder tie rod ends are smaller than the V8's. And the 65 upgrade is money well spent.
