Re: 65 comet polyurethane bushing kit
Man those measurements sure are confusing. it needs to say which is OD & ID . & needs to say same thing at top as it does at bottom. I like products with specs drawn on a pic of the product like a blueprint showing exactly what is each numbered measurement is on the description. but good luck hope i...

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
I cant tell it from the last pic . mine are offset & I looked thru about 200 pics of my car & cant find one where it is noticeable. you will forget all about it. Jim, Thanks! It was dealer installed in 65 and set slightly back from the adjustable drivers mirror, to please a little old lady in Memphi...

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
I couldn't get my mirrors exactly even but I have never thought much more about it & really hard to see them at same time unless you're in a tall building above it . But I got them as close as I could & still be able to see some out of the pass side for backing up. I didn't want interference with th...

Re: Can I fit 15×8 Magnum Wheels on the rear of a 1965 Comet Convertible?
No mine are 15x10 wheels but like Fred said I did a lot of changes, moved the frame rails in & widened the wheel tubs. But for a factory car it would depend on the back space , & getting the right backspace on the wheel of choice can be tricky .& probably need to remove the axle bump stops on the in...

I'd say yes*- wheels with proper back space.

Re: Joe's '63 1/2 Tinkering Thread
Joe it's good to have you back posting! :D My old beater daily driver has been down so I've been driving my 76 as a daily for a month or two, except for rainy days. It feels good to have some extra power & to hear a good sounding V8 on a daily basis for a change, it just puts you in a different state...

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
Keep in mind the inner back seat mounts had a spacer from the factory. I think they were somewhere around an inch thick maybe a little more.

Re: 65 Gage Bezel
2gr8kids did you notice that the od of the rings around the gauges were different sizes? Lol . be cool if you keep all of that like the factory ones so the camera case inserts for cyclones & woodgrain inserts for calientes would still fit.

Re: 65 Gage Bezel
The bezel looks amazing. I am not fluent on ‘65 Comets but for some reason I believe they are the same as ‘65-‘66 Mustang. If that is true you have a very large audience that would be in interested the six gauge panel. Nice work! Jim they are similar but mustang bezel has both sides rounded where c...

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
The front of the accelerator pump could possibly be warped. the eyes of the screw holes on the corners are weaker & can get bowed in & cause a leak. you can lay it on a flat hard surface & tap it back flat & /or lay sandpaper on that flat hard surface & rub the pump cover on it to true it up. also a...

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
The adjusting handle is 3 inches out compared to what it was. Other than that I think this will work?? I can modify the length of the adjuster handel if necessary? https://i.postimg.cc/8PX2gHzJ/IMG_20240325_131130537.jpg You could bend it straight up,right at the bend that would put it back 2-3 inc...
