That's it, I knew I saw it somewhere. They also have the console top though it's the falcon version and the center trim strip. Have never seen the comet trim strip, don't think it was ever repo'd.

Re: parking lamp housings and a console

Good complete consoles are also hard to find at a decent price. Ron That's a fact! The one I have has some tolerable issues with the base, but the top is ratted out. Nobody reproduces the console top for a 64/65 Comet that I've been able to find. You can buy repops for Falcons that will fit, but th...

check the DOT codes. If they are near 7 years old pass on them. They may not last long.

Re: parking lamp housings and a console

Good parking lamp housings for a 65 are hard to find. I couldn't find any so staightened mine as best i could, sanded out the imperfections and since they would need to be re-anodized I just painted them body color. Look good and most don't even notice. IMG_6469.JPG I'm no help on finding either. Go...

Re: Power steering

Which ever way you go for pumps make sure to get the right mounting brackets. Maybe I should explain the reason why the rams get shorter is each time they rebuild one they have to cut the end off, rebuild it then weld it back together. That's what makes them shorter. After they get rebuilt several t...

Re: Header install

Dougs does have one model that will work with the zbar. Model D660YS. Talk to Don at Pertronix and he can help you get the right one. How the D660YS fit on mine. Notice the area where the zbar mounts and is clear without interference. IMG_4490.JPG Needs this adapter on later 5.0 engines for the zbar...

Re: Power steering

Use an expanded drawing of the steering will help. You have the centerlink just mount the ram and anchor bracket. Use the stock bracket but avoid the drop down bracket as it is flimsy and will fail unless you make some major mods to strengthen it. Get the pump then the right hoses to connect everyth...

Re: Bad modification to a 64

The entire crossmember didn't have to be removed. Just cut out the center section. then the common 'c4 conversion mount' as it's called will still bolt in for whatever trans you choose to use. Mount can be trimmed as need be for more clearance for trans. C4 or T5 should be no problem. AOD could be a...

Re: MSD dizzy cap problems

Ron, now I know what to do with the old cap! I'll also put a hole in it for rotor indexing! Don, makes sense! less draw through rotor! Thanks for your input! NP Dave That's how i check the rotor phasing by cutting a hole in the top of an old cap. You get to watch it fire as it's running. No guessin...

Re: MSD dizzy cap problems

Funny I never gave it much thought when installing a new rotor, just assumed they made them right and the spring contact would be set for the right pressure. Question here is how to tell how much pressure is on it? Can't see inside the cap and no way to test with your finger. Though if you have an o...

spendy unit to trash!
Thanks NP Dave
If you have to replace it don't trash it just sell it and let someone else deal with it. But maybe they can find a fix.

Re: MSD dizzy cap problems

Must be a defect in those caps. I run the MSD cap-adapt cap on my autolite dist and it seems to be running just fine. If MSD can't get the problem solved would it be possible to install a carbon button from a different cap? That or go with a different dist.
