Re: Trying to stop straight!

Hey Bruce - Did the PB & MB pedals use the same pivot point location? In many (most?) cars of that era the pedals were different! I believe that they were the same pedal. As the discs were factory boosted, I think Ford OZ saw no reason to make many types. ( they were real tight arses back then...) ...

Re: Trying to stop straight!

On my '66 Falcon Fairmont ( different from the US 66 ) they came standard with front disc brakes. M/C bore was 1" and the caliper piston bores were 2.125" x 2 opposing pistons. Boosting was a 7" Girling booster. Rear wheel cylinders were special and smaller 9/16" type to reduce rear wheel lockup.( c...

As far as I know I'm just copying what was used on the early Mustangs by Shelby.

Re: Trying to stop straight!

Jim, an Ebay seller (tomsclassic) had all the stuff in the pic up for 419 USD. which is about a million CAD so I jumped on it,, lol Still need a master cyl and proportioning valve though. Re: Trying to stop straight!

Takes me back a bit when my Ford had drums all round. Wet days were the worse as if a drum got soaked , one of the fronts would lock whilst the other played catch up and the car wanted to change direction. I managed to find a set of disc brakes from a donor car that bolted straight up. They were sol...

Re: A new addition to the family

The first generation were all 4 speeds. Good lord, I just realized we have 5 cars with a clutch. I'll was her today and take some pictures. 4 speed, gotcha....I believe Australian specs were 5 speed manual and 3 speed auto. 5 cars with clutches...your left leg would be huge. Bruce

Re: A new addition to the family

That is some story. Cheers . What I noticed about US Barn finds they are often low mileage where ours are usually twice around the clock. So yours is a 5 speed O/D box. Well done. I would like to see pictures if the admin doesn't mind or in a PM if it is more kosher. Love the Zeds..and Zeess...

Re: A new addition to the family

I just purchased an all original 1970 240Z with 37,000 miles on her. One owner, garage kept. It hasn't moved from the garage in 8 or 10 years. The parking brake was on. I released it and still, the brakes are grabbing front and rear. We'll be winching her up on the hauler in the morning. Not Ford, ...

Re: Mishap and the Project Keeping me from the Comet

Mike, I have seen some gruesome injuries to people , some of those were dead and others alive, but I got one of those chills up my spine when I saw yours. I could imagine the unhappy dance you had....that would have friggin hurt... and injuries to hands are hard to isolate from ordinary use. I recal...

Re: Do we have a Joke Thread here?

I walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked me what I had. I said: 'Shingles.' So she wrote down my name, address, medical insurance number and told me to have a seat. Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked me what I had. I said, 'Shingles' So she wrote down my height...
