Looking For Rack & Pinion Steering

Post by Maine Pilot »

A couple of days ago I came across a thread that had a link to an individual/company that produced a Comet rack & Pinion re-fit kit, but I can't seem to find it.

Can anyone help me out?

Flaming river has a kit as does RRS and unisteer.
Only use the brakes to stop and get gas.

I called Unisteer back when and talked with 'em. The guy was friendly and seemed pretty knowledgeable, but I didn't get a definitive answer on turning radius (read a lot that it increases notably). I know they've had at least one (if not two) revisions so it might be good to go.

Thanks for the feedback.

I tried Unisteer's customer service directly and was told they didn't have anything for the 66-67 models. I may try the Flammng River website next.

Hey, I have been really thinking about buying this Power rack & Pinion steering for my 65 cyclone. I love the fact that its a "bolt on" system that connects at your motor mounts area if I understand them correctly. I wish I could speak with any other comet guys that have purchased this unit and actually installed it. It looks promising for sure
