Kustom Nats Phillip Island 2017

Post by BJB »

Even though the weather was perfect on Sunday the Crowds were down at the track , and there were fewer cars on display. I didn't visit San Remo and Cowes stages of the event as I had planned to go to the Sunday event.

The wagon and coupe are the '65/'66 models , referred here as the XP . In '64/'65/'66 the rear end styling of our Falcons differed from previous US styling and was unique to Australia with the front end for '65/'66 borrowed heavily from the early Mercury Comet. The dash was basically a RHD '63 Comet

Thanks Bruce. Yah, that looks for all the world like an early Comet hood!! The grille reminds me of a '66-'67 US Falcon along with some '65 Galaxie thrown in! Cool stuff man!! :)

That model was a child with many fathers...English Girlock factory disc brake calipers..Comet dash, Comet bonnet , front turn indicators and front guards , Galaxie inspired tail lights, Ford UK Zodiac Executive front buckets... born out of the spare parts bucket for sure.
