Timing cover E3AE
My timing cover has a lot of corrosion and I want to replace it. Seems like used not in new condition are about as much as aftermarket new replacement's. A new cover is around $55. Has anyone used he aftermarket cover's?

My brother just bought one for his 'Stang... Casting quality is NOT FoMoCo but it is serviceable. Cleaning up an old one sucks (I just got finished with a C3xx cover from a 260 - want the aluminum water pump and built-in pointer) and even more so if you find a crack after blasting!

I just bought one on Amazon for $36.21. Lord help me. I will have to add a block off plate.

You can still find timing covers with the cast in timing pointer but made to use the cast water pump instead of the backless aluminum water pump. And still has the boss for the fuel pump. I kind of prefer the cast in pointer style as it is reminisent of early small blocks.

That doesn't match anything on my car; I don't think so.

Should match if yours is a 289, 302 or 5.0. And you are using vbelt system as on early 289/302. I wouldn't hesitate using either one on my 5.0 or the old 289.

If you have a serp drive then you have a counter rotating water pump. Which takes a different timing cover. Makes sense.

Not an expert on serp drives but assumed they all used a reverse rotation pump.
