1965 Mercury Comet valuation help NEW PICTURES ADDED
Hello all I am new to Comets and need some help. I have been put in charge by the family of selling this Comet. This car belonged to a 94 year old grandfather who was the original owner. The car has been in California all its life and is in vey good shape with 49k miles. The car was always garaged and covered. The car runs and drives very good for a 53 year old car. If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction to get some value I would be very grateful.

Re: 1965 Mercury Comet valuation help
Probably would have been worth more if it hadn't rolled over.
This should give an idea: https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationt ... t_Caliente

Talk about rare options, I don't think I ever seen a bench seat mounted to the roof.
Anyway, that looks like a real nice car that has been well taken care of. I bet who ever ends up with it will be very happy.

Another unbelievable survivor. I would ask $15,000.

I'm just glad it's so far away.

No doubt!! Based on what I’ve seen I’d agree on the $15K...maybe $17K to start.Lip Ripper wrote:I'm just glad it's so far away.

I think we have a comsensus. 15K is the neighborhood. But, "ya just can't find cars this nice". Great example of a fine Merc.

Original tires too?
Seems like this belongs indoors somewhere. I can't speak to the price, but I don't think you can find one this un-toched anymore. Nice find for somebody.
Too bad it's not a 64 Wagon ... and too bad I'm not rich

The motor being the wrong color (should be yellow breather & v covers) would make me want to look over it in person before I flopped down a bunch of cash. but 15k doesn't seem to unrealistic, values are coming up.

Oh yeah, it's a cream puff. According to Hagerty, $12,300 is excellent condition, +25% for V8. That takes it to $15,375. I'd ask $16,000 and not take less than $15,000. Hey Rip, they got planes that fly to California. This one looks on par with that Galaxy you had. You could drive it back.
