one of these.

Posted on a local forum this magnificent 2 door Mercury Custom Comet wagon.

We never had this model down under, and two door wagons weren't our cup of tea.

We never got the V8 Falcon until September '66

That makes this one so desirable.

The front end is similar to our 65/66 model Falcon and the US wagons (Falcon) were longer in the rear end than ours.

Looks like somebody did a good job on that.

If I ever had a wagon it would have to be a two door, not sure why Mercury never made one I guess so later down the road somebody could take a Falcon and make their own

See Ya,

Mercury actually did make Comet two door wagons 1960-1963. Didn't make them in 64 or 65 tho falcon did. Seen a few 64/65 Falcon two door wagons with Comet front sheet metal. But always thought it would be cool to build a 64 or 65 Comet two door hardtop wagon.

Oh man, I could start a list with this topic...

Personally, the kind of comet I'd love to have most would be a custom '64/'65 Comet/Ranchero crossover, kind of like this:

Next 4 in line:
2. Sleeper (doesn't matter what year or model)
3. Mad Max rat rod (any year and/or model, bonus if it's a mish-mash of different years and models)
4. '60-'67 classic station wagon (4 door, preferably)
5. Flashy 70's style drag racer, '66-'68
6. Cheap beater (any year) that I can wash with a power-washer, drive like an idiot, and road trip without a care

IMO ALL of the Comet/Falcon wagons are awesome....2 or More Door!! There was a really sweet Falcon wagon FS here about a month ago. Really made me wish for more space (and $$$)!!

Very true, I'm just a touch biased since I've got a 4-door sedan. I'd take a 2-door in a heartbeat provided the price was right and I had the space for it!

After the recent purchase of the 64 Galaxie town sedan and seeing what the Aussies have done with 4 door cars gives me a whole new perspective on them. I think I prefer the 4 door wagon's simply from a utility perspective.
