OT Brake booster disassemble

Post by Lip Ripper »

Hey gang, working on my 70 240Z. It has a Bendix licensed booster that has gone south. I can't believe it but I found a repair kit. This booster actually goes together with a bayonet style fastening, sort of like a sending unit in a gas tank. I've made a tool to turn it and it moved some . I'd like to spray something in the groove to lubricate, not swell the rubber, eat the old paint and ideally evaporate. Ideas?

what about WD40? WD40 stands for water displacement formula #40

I use it to clean lots of stuff under the hood, hoses, wires, painted stuff.

I guess I could use wd then clean it up. I know it won't take paint or hurt the rubber. I'm out of denatured alcohol or I'd pour some of that in the rim and turn it.
