Made a puller out of angle iron. Beat on the puller with a four pound hammer until the axle popped out. :D The splines look just fine. Got it done just in time as it is raining now.

New bearings and retainers pressed on by a repair shop in Prescott. They also turned my drums. New seals and flange gaskets. Got it back together about 2 weeks ago. Nice and quiet now. :D

Changed the oil and filter today. Being that it's not a daily driver but rather a weekend cruiser it only averages 800-1000 miles a year. Last year we put a little over 1300 miles on it participating in club activities so I only change the oil once a year in it around this time.

Regapped the plugs from .040 to .035 and got it running a bit smoother. Next up is to step down the gap until I get it right...

Started the black car tonight for first time since I got the headers back. Checked my new trans cooling lines for leaks and everything seems ok. Added a couple of more clamps to the lines to fasten them to the side of the framerail. Ordered a barrel of racing fuel. Its getting close to that time of the year.

Checked my valves today . Ran up and down the driveway a couple of times. Brakes, line lock, & transbrake seem ok.

I warmed the car up again today and then retorqued all the header bolts. Then I installed new valve cover gaskets. I glued them with weatherstrip adhesive to the covers first and reinstalled.
