Post by rapdweasel »

what im wondering will a 200cid inline six bolt in where a 144cid engine was. what i want to do is take the 144 out and bolt in a 200 for more performance. and keep it three speed on the tree to make it look all orginal.

from my experience i would go with yes. i belive that externally they are the same. i know that the 170 will bolt right in and i think that the 200 is the same way

They will all bolt up to your trans. except for the late 70s early 80s with the lowmount starter.Later.Heath

Just to confirm what everyone else said, it will bolt right in. Like Heath said avoid the low mount starter 200, if the starter is down next to oil pan instead of next to the block it will be a low mount.
