I love those old FE's,have a 63 390 with 63 406 heads in my 66 f100,,and a 3.50 rear gear with a 3spd on the columnshift.....it don't back up when you haul a load, pull a trailer,I can only dream about having one like you have,,nothing like having CU IN's..thanks, just always try to have that thing pointed in the right direction when you pull the trigger on it ...  pop

9.50's on a 6" rim? I don't think you'll get the footprint. I had mine on 7"s and that was pushing it.

And fairlaniac, I'm surprised that you didn't experience wheel spin. I see you're using radial's. Maybe that is better. I ran old fashion slick's with 8-9 lbs. of air.
66 Cyclone GT; 245/60R15's on 15x8's and 215/70R15's on 15x7 Magnum's.
There's nothing like the sound of a pushrod V8 singing at the top of her lung's.

i have some 8 inch aftermarket wheels i guess ill use. i was wanting to use my factory mags but thats ok it looks better with the wider chrome wheels on the back anyway.

no worries fryedaddy, I was confused for a moment too, 302 is a stroker & it goes well, good fun to drive around.

6" rims are not ideal, but making special wheels would cost & alloys don`t have the right offset in the right style wheel I would run, but I usually ran about 18lb air which is a bit high but they hooked up good & worked for me, I ran 10.8s like that, now I run 255/60/15 et streets with a shorter diff so I can run 7s or 8 1/2" rims. i put 27 psi in those hoosier quick time pros,i took it out the highway and i noticed alot of bounce.i lowered it down to 20 psi the hopping and bouncing was gone but now the car seems to move around a little. im going to try 23-25 i hope it wont bounce or move around.[on the street that is],i wont get to take it to the track till later this summer. i have a few more things to do to get it ready
