1966 Comet Cyclone GT Convertible Indy Pace Car verification

Hello Everyone!
I recently purchased a very nice 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT convertible and have been told that it was one of the 100 Pace Cars for 1966. I am having a very hard time finding solid information that will either confirm or deny this. Here is what I know so far: My car has a VIN of 6H28S6....., verified by the data tag and the rad support stamp matching, 390 GT engine, C6 Automatic, Power Steering, Power front Disc brakes, Factory Dash Mounted Tach, Intermittent wipers, Correct paint and interior color and 4 Leaf Rear springs. Can anyone on this forum help steer me to the correct sources or maybe perhaps an Indy Pace Car Registry where I can find this information. There are no Marti Reports for the 1966 Model Year and Ford could only confirm that it is a 1966 Cyclone GT convertible built at Lorain, OH. Any new information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
