Top day at nostalgia muscle car drags. 3rd meet for new engine ran 11.05, 11.04, 11.02, 11.016, then 10.933. very happy, weighed in at 3480lb with new 9" replacing the now bent 8". 302cu stroker ( 364cu ) running on 98 pump gas with full exhaust & air cleaner on M/T 255/60/15 street radials, drove there didnt touch it & drove home. was 2 mph down on previous best & still running a bit lean & a few more revs left in it. will just have to keep it at 11.00 or with our rules will have to put in a roll cage at 10.99 just lucky the officials didnt see that run. only bad part was the 0.006 redlight in the 3rd round. To turn that time after driving there in it ,,,then turn around and drive it home just shows the quality of work ,you are capable of,JOHN,congrats that is some super stuff,,,thanks for sharing.....now go put in that cage and go back.........take care of my comet's brother,,lol......POP

Thanks guys for your compliments , i am very happy with how its going, when i started building the engine that was the plan to be able to drive to the track & not have to change anything like drop exhaust & change wheels etc like i had to with the old motor & run the numbers easily ( i must be getting a bit lazy ) i can now run the regular drag meets not just the nostalgia meets. the super street bracket is 10.99-13.00 so i will run it at 11.00 & be at the top of the field.. Pop i wont be putting a cage in its too hard to register them for road use here, will cage the other comet. John

A new PB for the Comet the other day, ran a 10.886 @123.44mph, wasn`t expecting that, air was very good. slowed it down to 11.04 & 11.01 for the rest of qualifying, but unfortunately another racer tipped off the officials & i was sent home because i dont`t have a roll cage. John

I am so jealous. (Of the 98 octane) Do you have ethanal down there? I hate this junk. I gotta run prem. in lawnmowers & everything, its all I can find with out it. Do you ever pass any of the guys pulling their cars home? I bet that would feel good, outrun em at the track then pass them on the way home

I doubt it,but that other driver that turned you in ,might have been looking out for your welfare,or he just saw a way to get rid of some competion,either WAY PUT YOUR roll bar in and go back,and thump butt !! congrat's on your time....good luck..... POP

POP, the other guy just seized the opportunity to get rid of some competition, he got out first round anyway.
ROY, i think your right with the roll bar but just have too many other things on at the moment like finishing my truck, it also means i have to get a new licence, helmet & have the car teched & log booked not just the cage. when its done would like to find out how much quicker it will go i think its got l lot more in it.
JOHNO, we also have 10% ethanol along with 98 premiun & 95 at most petrol stations a few have E85 but i haven`t seen them yet. I always run the 98 premium as i don`t trust the quality of the other stuff.
its good to watch the other guys loading their trailers & changing wheels etc while i wipe the numbers off & jump in & drive home as its raced, also gives more time to walk around & talk with the other guys & check out the cars. John
