dont know if a c4 was available in a 6 before 65
I don't believe so. I think the mercomatic 2 spds were standard prior to '65.

Early style C-4's were available in '64 Comets and Early 64 1/2 Mustangs. Small spline 5 bolt bell-housings... FYI, But I think only in V-8's

AND I changed the 5bolt bh to a 6bolt and have a 64 c4 hooked to a 351 w in a 56 ford,the c4 came from my comet when I went to a 4spd......pop
