I had plans for one, but after I put a 1 1/8'' front sway bar on I dont have any body roll in corners >>>NONE, so I decided against the rear one. was thinking of it getting in the way of the exhaust too.

General consensus is these cars don’t need a rear bar and too big is definitely worse than none depending on how you drive.

I’d be tempted to try one if I could find a 1/2” bar...IMO the common 3/4” one is too big regardless of the size of front. Probably not do much but I’m still curious.

I think the stock one was 5/8" so 7/8" isn't so bad.
I had a 1" front and 3/4" rear on a 66 mustang and it felt pretty good but I think it wanted to over-steer more than my Comet does. I never pushed it that hard.
I currently have a 1" front (only) on my 65 Comet and it feels ok. Still leans a bit. Probably should have gone with the 1 1/8" bar.

Go with the large front sway bar and KYB gas shocks.
If the rear still needs less side movement check out what
Porboyjo did on his leaf spings!

A 3/4" rear sway is too large for a 5/8" front bar. There is a balance between the two. Too much stiffness in the rear will give you oversteer. 3/4" would work well with the 1 1/8" front. Get the right ratio between the two and you get neutral handling no understeer and no oversteer.
I run the stock 11/16" in front and 1/2" in the rear and mine is close to the neutral point in most conditions.

At the time the only 1/2" rear sway bar I could find was for about a 69 mustang which was too wide. So I made my own. What I did was took another front sway bar same as my front off another ranchero and cut it down to 1/2". How did i do that you ask! With a lot of grinding reduced the od to 1/2" between the mount bushings. By grinding it didn't heat up the bar so no loss of temper. Had to design my own method of mounting and linking up to the frame. Has worked just fine and handles great.

Wow, Ron! You're a man of patience. That's like making your own mags using a file and aluminum billets!
