Hello all I’m new to this forum. Hopefully this is where to post about this.
I have a 62 comet. It’s in pretty rough shape but I just got the engine running. Anyways the whole time we were working on this project it was in drive and we didn’t even know. Well anyways that should have been a issue but apparently it doesn’t matter what gear it’s in.. it’s not going to budge! The comet is a inline 6 automatic tranny.
I guess what I’m going after is what would someone diagnose this as first? I’m no mechanic and I’ve never pulled a tranny out before, what should I look into, a book maybe or maybe there’s some quick fix I haven’t thought of

I'm a 4-speed guy, so no help to you, but I wanted to welcome you to the forum. There are a lot of guys on here that do know a LOT about automatics, so hang tight and you'll get some advice soon, I'm sure.
