Finding A hard time buying A new gas cap , local auto parts stores don't have correct listing ,they checked Stant products ,no luck ,I checked on e-bay every cap listed for mercury ,shows not compatable, any Ideas or part numbers . thank you

I haven't bought one in years, but I'm pretty sure I bought it at the local Napa. I would think any of the parts stores should be able to get a vented gas cap.

If all else Fails try Autokrafters or Macs

DO you just want one that will work & look similar? or do you want one concours correct?

says ''Vented'' at the top & ''anti-surge'' at the bottom,


This one looks just like it,with the correct wording ,,,& at the bottom says it fits lots of old fords. I think they were pretty much all one universal size back then,

there are others that will work that dont look exactly right.

Thanks thats the one I need ,Gates should be available at any auto parts store.
