Throttle Cable questions

Post by cyclone65 »

I was thinking about replacing my worn out throttle linkage (from pedal to carb) with a cable. Has anybody done this? I see that Summitt sells throttle cable kits for sml blk Ford, but I don't know if these will work on my Comet or not. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

P.S. Is anyone going to Charolette N.C. for the Auto Fest at Lowes Motor Speedway? I will be there and will be Driving my 65 from Philly and back.

When I put the Police Interceptor engine out of an '80 Crown Vic in my '62 F-100 I used the pedal and cable from the Police car, just had to drill 3 holes through the fire wall and bolted everthing right up, works great.

The only thing is the pedal will hang from the firewall instead of being attached to the floor.

I did the same when I went from 144 to 302. Drilled a couple of holes and used the cable out of a 73 Mach 1. Worked really well.
