steering stops

i know that i need the steering stops that bolt on top of the strut rods. but how important are they i have one. but i dont have the other. also where could i get a set of them they would be for a 64 comet.

I just made some out of bar stock steel (1/4" x 1" wide), and drill 2 holes in each so that they bolt to the strut arms. This seems to work fine on my Granada front end, I just turned the wheels lock to lock and trimmed the stops to where they needed to be. :D

I have had Granada brakes on my 65 for 15 years with NO stops,never had a problem.
