Early round top 289 Valve Covers

Post by comethead »

Looking for a few sets of early 289/260 valve covers. I know they're reproduced but they're getting $50 for those.
I'm going to convert these into 289 Comp Cobra covers with the tall breathers.
Thanks

Holy hell those don't have ANY breathers!
Must be real early with the fill on the front cover?
Thanks JH I'd need at least one breather so I'm not modifying both sides :? Joe

Your right. Any idea what tubing to use to make the tall breathers? I love that look but they're getting $400-$550 for the 289 Comp reproductions
These are the cheapest ones I've found http://store.cobraautomotive.com/valve- ... are-steel/

I guess I'll go measure the tubes and my stock ones and get to work

Let me know if you get those and want to sell'em

:? Had no idea valve covers could cost that much!! I'll measure the push-in breather tomorrow. I had the PCV measurements from a previous pair (late model Cobra EFI I planned to drill but decided not to) but can't remember off the top; will check that too!!

You should be fine with a couple push-ins and PCV!
