Looking for Comet Cyclone GT 390 Valve Covers

Post by xicious »

Looking for a decent set of the cyclone gt 390 chrome Valve covers. Maybe even a beat up set with the 390 emblems in decent shape. Shipped to 19720! Any leads would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

WOW! I have the only set I've physically seen on my car. I posted a picture of them on the Ford FE site. (A lot of knowledge there) A collector of FE valve cover's said he'd never seen them. The last set I saw was on ebay and brought $600. I guess if I ever get hard up for cash I could sell them.

Let me caution you on this. I went to install factory adjustable rockers (my 66GT was non adj. from the factory) and they won't work under those covers.

I actually just lost out on a set a few hours ago on eBay, they only went for 80 shipped. They weren't the greatest shape but better than my current. Thanks for the info, that's good advice.

Dang, the cast pieces on top are the gold. You could drill any 65/66 valve cover for them. Well they need to be chrome which I'm sure you already know.

I cannot believe that they sold for that. I just saw the listing. What a steal.

I wanna know about your ride.

Black 66 cyclone GT 390 hard top, manual car with auto conversion. No pics at the moment since the car is still going through restoration.

Pretty sure someone used one of those eBay sniping boys to take the auction. I probably should have too.

Cool. I'm sure your corral molding between the tail light's is pitted, they all are. And I haven't found a good one in 8 year's of searching. You can carefully cut the center out of the Caliente trim piece leaving only the upper and lower bar's. It works pretty darn well.

I'm glad to see another 66 on here. I have some assorted pieces so let me know if you need parts.
