Generator Question

Post by Adams »

Hello All, moving on from my brake woes, I have a generator question: My 62 Comet is equipped with the 30 amp generator, standard for Comets. I also have a good rebuilt 25 amp from a Falcon. If I install it, does it require a different regulator, or are they the same? Thanks

I figured if anything, the current control section of the regulator just won't cut out as often, but I don't really know. Of course, I have no a/c or any accessories other than stock radio, so I don't need a lot of juice. I'm not sure why Comets had a 30...

I stil lhave the gen on my 64,and I have all the msd ign on it...never had no problems,to me the key is to always put a good battery in to start with, and I may as wrong as 2 left feet, but to me a battary lasts longer with the a gen over a alt,,,I have these tractors with gen and the batt's have been in them for yrs and my comet has had the same batt for yrs as well,,,but in the end the alt is rhe best, but I'll never switch on my comet...there's no need as of yet
