Offy Triples on my Six

Post by lavron »

I was out the other day looking at the 170 in my Comet and began to think about, maybe, going ahead and doing the triple one barrels on my new motor.

Once I got the Autolites balanced, I never really had to mess with them, and they look super cool  8)

The only issue I have is the cost of the Offenhauser intake is $350, I would just reuse my current carbs and rebuild them (I still have the set of Holleys I can put back on the 170). My other concern is the the little 2 barrels I bought will be too small for the 250, (I might end up with enough stuff to build a 200 sometime as well<--stupid idea) the Escort carbs are for a 90, give or take, cid engine so would be just about right for a 200 with two of them.

I don't know what I will end up doing just a thought  I guess that is the issue when you have too much time to think about it while I wait for parts etc.

See Ya,
Mike

Back in the 70's or maybe late 60's there was this 55 Shiverleigh at our local dirt track. It ran a 6 with 3 deuces and did pretty darned well.

I say go for it! You've waited this long, may as well build it how you really want to. I love the budget build idea, but sometimes, you just gotta treat yourself!

Go to a triple Tempo TBI setup, with a custom split intake so you can turbo it. Go big or go home as they say  but seriously i bet a triple tempo tbi setup would run pretty well and gas mileage would be decent
