Could someone post a few good pics showing the way the generator mounts to the motor? For some reason, my generator on my '61 170 is adjusted all the way in near the water pump and the belt is still too short
I have only one bracket. Does the generator take 2 brackets?
My email is soleil0328@hotmail.com if you are unable to post pics here
Thanks

Re: Generator adjustment bracket
Why not just switch to a longer belt? Save all that grief.magnus0328 wrote:Could someone post a few good pics showing the way the generator mounts to the motor? For some reason, my generator on my '61 170 is adjusted all the way in near the water pump and the belt is still too short

I agree. I have the proper belt. I just want to make sure I have everything mounted right

Re: Generator adjustment bracket
a mount to the engine low above the oil pan
the other is a sliver of metal with an elongated hole in it and it bolts right behind the fan pully
