Replacing heater core... '63 I6..

Post by tek2graphics »

Hello all, I need help/instructions on replacing the heater core... I have a 2 door, straight six. (Haven't figured out how to identify the engine yet). Previous owner said it was leaking. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd take the heater box out of the car. h hoses, cables, defrosts ducts ,intake duct & 4 nuts in the engine bay around the blower motor & that's all . perfect time to replace the heater hoses too, & if you do you can just cut the old ones to remove the box. be gentle, the old boxes are brittle! I would also put a new foam kit in the box while your in there they aren't expensive. the 64-64's are like a mustang, which have cheap parts .not sure about the 63.
