Trunk Pans

Post by chrysalis61 »

I have a bit of rusting, to a see through in the dip pan, above the gas tank. What has anyone done about this and or is there any trunk pans for this section out there? I have a 1961 Mercury Comet 2-door.

Thanks :)
Kelly

You will have to find good used stuff (good luck!) or fabricate your own patches. I started out patching mine but ended up cutting it all out & made a complete new trunk floor, all but the "drops", the the part that drops down to the lower quarter behind the tire, it is repopped. I bought one of those & found a donor on the other side. but it isn't a complicated piece, a couple beads & one 90*bend, so could easily be made too.
