Loose door locks

Just picked up this '64 the other day, knowing that both front door locks are loose (can pull them out a bit). The driver's side still locks, however, the front passenger lock doesn't. Did the retaining rings come off the locks and what's the best way to go about fixing (door panel off ?)? The shop manual shows parts breakdown, but no assembly.

Yea I think you'll need the panel off to see what came apart. you'll know when you get in there.
