Interior color change

Post by anoNY42 »

My interior is turquoise, and I wish to change it (probably to black). Does anyone have any experience with painting the metal trim (dashboard, A pillar trim) and dyeing the door panels (or should I just get new ones)?

Thanks!

You can get a vinyl dye in spray cans for the door panels at most any parts store. usually they recommend an adhesion promoter to be spayed on before hand. I used ''dupli color'' spray can paint on my dash & doors. It isn't as durable as regular car paint but cheap.

I used SEM brand black on the leather a vinyl in Sassy, the leather wore out before the paint.
I sprayed the front buckets in my car from light gray to black in about 2007, the vinyl still looks decent.
I just cleaned them and sprayed, used them same day, great stuff.

I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about
