To relay or not relay ..that is the question

Post by Kingspeedy2 »

I am already going to have relays for
Upgraded headlights
fuel pump
Cooling fan
AC
Alarm/remote Door locks

Do i need one for windsheild wipers and Stock horns?
I dont remember seeing eithet amongst the old tattered electrical
Also i assume i need to fuse the load side of the relay aswel?

I also found out something about utilizing a relay on the cooling fan
Is that a relay prevents power back feeding from the fan after its turned off and briefly becomes a generator while it spins to a stop

My Comet is a 65 and I just rewired it. I did not use a relay for the wiper or the horns and they both work. The wiper switch is difficult to figure out the wiring but I did not use a relay nor did Ron Francis recommend one.
