67 vs 66 Comet Body Parts Interchangalbe?

Post by 67Comet202 »

Hello,

I have a 67 Comet 202 that I need to replace the hood, trunk lid, and a door. Looking at a 66 Comet that has been stripped but has trunk lid, hood, doors, and quarters in tact and fairly rust free. Are these parts interchangeable between these years? Thanks

I believe 66 and 67 shared the same body so I am guessing the doors are the same, the other parts might fit ok but may not be totally correct, it just depends on if they changed trim only or body panels.

Someone will have a more definitive answer than me.

See Ya,

Hood, yes. The deck lid must be from another 202 and will interchange, the hardtop decks are longer. Fenders are different cosmetically. 202 doors are the same 66 and 67.

Thanks so much for the responses. I have verified that both are body code 01 = 202 Sedan. I am going to move on with purchasing the parts car. Will keep you all updated on how it goes. Thanks.

66 202 parts fit perfectly on the 67 202. Thanks so much for the help. Next on to getting all the rust fix, floors and quarters.
