Brake Spring ?

Post by tomb22 »

Is there supposed to be a spring between the brake pedal and the pedal frame to pull the pedal away from the fire wall on a 65. I was wiring up the brake switch and noticed no spring to pull pedal off the switch.

No spring on mine. The master cylinder should push it back if it has the right pushrod. did you change master cylinders? Some brake kits come with an adjustable pushrod . my csrp kit came with one but it was a 1/4'' or so too long. I didnt feel like it was letting the mc piston all the way back out. After cutting it I was able to get some noticeable slack. sounds like you may have too much slack? & may need a different pushrod.
