Steering wheel cover

Post by poboyjo65 »

I found a well made steering wheel cover from wheelskins. you can get them on special order for any size. I tested the first cover on this wheel for my truck, but I'm going to order another one for my Comet. Was 67 bucks shipped but I'm satisfied with it.
here is where I got it, & it was here fast, 4-5 days .

It was a rainy weekend so football, racing & wrappin for me. I just keep a roll of masking tape handy so I could wrap it up & my lacing stay tight if I got tired of it. I didnt like the way they said to lace it up. I used what is called a baseball stitch. It made the wheel a bit fatter for a better feel.

here is a good video on how to make your own cover. It has some pointers on the baseball type stitch too. the holes on the one I got were spaced out a little further so it didnt get as tight of a stitch but the wheelskin had the edges folded double for strength & might have bunched up too much had I went with tighter stitching.

Thanks Joe! Joe the comet wheel is a little slick after I filled in all the finger grooves. This truck wheel feels so good I want one for the comet. gives it a fatter feel .
