Hello from Sweden

Post by HarryK »

I am a proud owner of a Glacier Blue 64 Comet Caliente with a 289 engine. It arrived to Sweden In September this year from Indiana , USA. In Sweden there are only 12 registered 64 Comets so you do not see them every day. The mileage is about 60000 miles and it looks like it has been painted ones a long time ago. But otherwise it is original.Even the original spare is still there. This is my first enthusiast car and I hope you can help me if I have any Questions. Now I hope the winter could be over so I can enjoy cruising up and down the road.

Very cool; you found the right place here.

I grew up in Indiana and built/owned 4 Comet's/Cyclones while growing up there. What part of the state did the car come from?

There's nothing like the sound of a pushrod V8 singing at the top of her lung's.

Welcome Harry glad to have you here, My great grandfather was from Sweden and I have a '64 Comet so we already have something in common  :P

We don't see them much around here either, the Comet is a rarer car in the US as well so it sounds like it is super rare there, you made a good choice. Stacey is right, you came to the right place for help or just to talk about Comets.

See Ya,
Mike

Harry, we actually have two others from Sweden.
Uttern - http://www.cometcentral.com/forum/membe ... ile&u=1941
Moonshine - http://www.cometcentral.com/forum/membe ... ile&u=1470

Uttern was last on-line in late November of this year. Moonshine hasn't been on since November of 2015. (Good memory, John! He does have a red 64 vert.) You can use the links above to go to their posts and learn more. Since Uttern just visited a little over two weeks ago, you may want to PM him and see if you get a reply. Good luck.

Thanks for the nice welcoming!
I do not know exactly where in Indiana the car was bought by the Company who imported it to Sweden this summer. In the owners manual it says that it as originally bought 23rd of October in Richmond Indiana. A funny thing is that the first owners name was also Harry..

Here are some Pictures of my car:

Hi Harry, I know a few people down here that import US cars such as yours but learnt the other day that the biggest importer of US classic cars is Sweden.

Well done on your purchase

cheers
