Comet Enthusiast from Fla

Post by madshirt »

Hey fellow Comet peeps, my first family car after marrying my HS sweetheart was a used 64 Comet Cyclone @ 18 in 1965 with 9500 miles on the clock. Had the Merc-o-matic but I broke that after a year and converted to 3 speed all syncro with Hurst shifter. Much happier, logged many trouble free miles with smiles in her and always wanted another one day. Wish I had pics, sold her to a buddy when I bought my 67 Fairlane 289 4 speed car. He wrapped the Cyclone around a tree. Bought my wife a cherry 64 Caliente Ragtop we drove for several years - think I paid $800 back in the day.

Now have a 64 K code Caliente "Cyclone Clone" with street strip 289 / race prep C4 / 389 gear as purchased. I am planning to convert to either a top loader or T5 conversion.

Good to be here ~ glad I found you guys .....

PS: Tried to upload a 56k pic, no joy "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

Welcome aboard! Deja Vu! I bought a 65 Cyclone when I was 17. Sold it at 20 to get married. Just bought another one two years ago. Plenty of advice and ideas here just for the asking.
