Greetings! I've already learned a great deal from your forum about my car. It's a 63 hardtop with a factory 260 V8, 4-speed combo. It's pretty clean inside, it's got some rust, but I'm mostly looking to drive this car every day. At this point I still have a lot of questions, but I'll get to those in time. I bought it from a guy in New Mexico who actually joined this forum years ago when he inherited the car from his wife's parents. It was quite surprising the first time I saw pictures of my own car here. Anyways, thanks again!
Dave

Welcome aboard, Dave! Nice looking car. Being a New Mexico car, you should be in pretty good shape as far as rust is concerned.

Hey Dave!
If you have any questions or find some solutions, bounce them here. I also drive a '63 1/2 V8 4 speed car and I'm still on the learning curve about the transition model. There are a few things that are specific to this car that was only produced for a half year. I've picked up on a few of them but still looking for a few answers. Nice car
Thanks!
Joe

Thanks, Joe. My first tasks are suspension, steering and tires. I found out after I bought it how rare this body and drivetrain are in an early Comet. I love the hardtop.

Yeah, you find out real quick why the parts you need for your car aren't ON the car. Looks like yours' is complete and that's a BIG plus.daves63merc wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 9:48 pmI found out after I bought it how rare this body and drivetrain are in an early Comet. I love the hardtop.
This is my second hardtop Comet but it's special because it was the first made, which makes it unique and rare.

When I was 16 I wanted a ‘63.5 Falcon Sprint, that was the car for me until my ‘64 sedan came along, I am glad she did love my little Comet sedan, your Comet looks like it willl make an excellent daily, and you will be cooler than anyone else around, I am gladyou joined on and hope to see more as you progress, every little thing we learn around here about every model of Comet will only make this a better source in the future for others, and it helps me to have my build thread on here so I can remember what I did and how often I changed my mind on stuff it is all a process for me.Again welcome on and glad to have you here so much info here free for the taking and tons of knowledge available for the asking almost nothing has not been tried or done on here, unless you are like me and even now that has been done and documented here.
