Hello from Illinois
Recently just purchased a 65 Cyclone , 4spd . Engine had been changed some years ago to a warmed up 302 . It had a Crane Fireball cam and lost a lobe after about 200 miles .
I'm now having a 347 built and know , headers and suspension are going to be needed to get the right thing's to fit .
I see some here have experienced this same issue with a small engine bay and Z bar for headers . I'm not a fan of long tube , hopefully i can find the right combo that wont require to much

Welcome on ! love my 347,loads of lowend & midrange with the cam I used, its a great street motor. I used dougs tri y's, fit is pretty good.still not a no cuss fit like Roy Pool said his was. but I had a borgesen PS box that he didnt. had to grind a corner off of it & some other finagling but didnt have to ding the headers. scratched the ceramic coating some though during the fight.

Re: Hello from Illinois
Welcome, looking forward to seeing pics! I put a 347 mine for a few years in 2005. Ran shorty headers from Patriot and Mustang Steve cable clutch conversion. Worked good, but went back to my Boss 351 Cleveland and kept the cable clutch for this go around. Took the 347 and put it my 66 Mustang still running those same shorty patriots and also a cable clutch in it.
1965 Mercury Cyclone former drag car, 1971 Boss 351 engine, 4 speed, ladder bars, etc. Now returned to a street car.

Excellent.....had a65 in high school, 64 now.
I have a set of Sanderson FF6 silver ceramic coated shorties I'll part with. They're in the buy, sell, trade posts.
Good luck on the build!

Do you know the history of the car?
