Couple pics of my 63.5

Post by dano »

I bought this Comet on eBay in late June and had it delivered to me a few weeks later. When I got it, it came with a partially dissassembled 87 302 roller under the hood with an AOD behind it. Most of the 260 and the original T10 4 speed was in the trunk.

I yanked the running gear and reassembled the 302. I modified a cast iron 164 tooth bellhousing to accept my early narrow bolt T10 4 speed and also to accept a 157 toorh flywheel and starter.

The motor is basically stock with an 83 Mustang aluminum dual plane intake and Holley 600 carb, it has a set of hedman 88300 headers, pro comp distributor, CD ignition, and coil. The motor runs sweet as can be and having the original 4 speed sticking out of the floor is AWSOME.

As of now shes got some skinny 195/75-14 tires, I plan to replace them in the future with 225/60-15 rear and 205/60-15 front in 7" wheels on all four corners. Then disc brakes, then on to the body. - Dan

For some reason the picture links won't work so here are some links to the pictures.

A fresh coat of paint on that dash really made a big difference.

Great looking project.

I appreciate the comments. It's been a real challange with this being my first Ford project yet at the same time a ton of fun. Yeah, the dash was in pretty rough shape when I got the car so it's looking pretty good now. I still have a long way to go, but I'll get there. - Dan

Yeah the steering wheel that came with the car looked out of place. It's style would look more at home in a modern or sportier interior. This classic three spoke works much better. - Dan
