Re: Pics of my new project

So after getting frustrated with the whole cowl ordeal, I decided to work on something else. I managed to get the side windows and regulators in. There in, but I need to get everything situated.

The doors were replaced at some time and the person swapped the upper frame of the door. So now they are just loose and I need to figure out where to weld them back in place. Here are a few pics of what I'm talking about.

That's why I installed the windows, so I can try and make sense of it.

Does anyone know where this goes?

I thought it might go here, but the window won't roll down because it hits it!

Are you shure the doors arn't off a hardtop and they were being converted to a sedan.
Only use the brakes to stop and get gas.

Roy, you arenprobably right on that. I just didn't want to make a bunch of new threads, but I will make on in the 66-69. Also, I start work next week so I won't have any free time for a long time.

StPro, I thought of that too. It's hard to find pics of doors from a 66 sedan! Lol.

Brad;after reading Stpro's remark,I have to agree especially after looking at your pictures afain. The door bottom half does look like a hardtop door. ROY.

I would agree to Roy. I would think it could still work if I weld it in right. Not sure though. I would look for other doors, but finding a nice set in Minnesota will be a challenge! I made a thread in the 66-69 area to see if people could maybe get some pictures to compare. thanks for taking the time to help me out, I know I have been flooding the site lately :)

Yea there defiately not hardtop doors, I really don't know what there plan was, but far as putting them back I guess you would need to align the lower part of the door as close a posible and the adj the upper to the opening and tack weld it in position. Would be my best guess.

Yea Ratical, that was kinda my plan of attack. That's why I installed the glass back in the doors to help align the top. I need to adjust the bottoms a little better first and then see what happens! Lol Thanks for all the help.
