Saw your car at the nationals looks nice. I have some pics of a nice comet that was hiding on one of the back rows. Will to post some up later.

Ah wow - too bad we didn't have a chance to meet . I wasn't even planning on registering for that event - car wasn't even cleaned up for it - a buddy of mine talked me into doing it so we could hang out  Hardly qualified to hang out with those 60K+ rigs that were all around me :P

Your car is awesome! There is no redder red.
I almost bought a 67 Cyclone once, but the rear quarter was badly damaged and repaired.

Updating...

Post by B_Hix »

Thought I would update my fellow Comet pilots and enthusiasts. I have been debating exactly how far I was going to take this Comet build - I bought the car because I love the body style and it was perfectly 'cruisable' as it sat - 'course the 3 speed toplaoder and I had a falling out and I put a T-5 in...

Well, the rear main seal is leaking and I HATE LEAKS. SO the motor needs to be lifted. Since the motor will be lifted I will take the opportunity to clean up and re-spray the engine compartment.

Well, since the motor is out..... And this is where I get into trouble with the Sergeant Major (wife)....

I have posted a picture of some recent. uh, acquistions below

Image

Pictured are:

1. 2nd T-5, this one has been beefed up so it should withstand 450 ft/lbs tq.
2. Fuel cell - because I can - besides I could put a family of 8 in my trunk and never will - might was well
3. Front end rebuild kit/Kanter
4. New coil springs (not pictured)
5. 91 Roller block (not pictured)
6. Edelbrock Performer aluminun heads (1 pictured) milled to 59cc, 1.90/1.60 valves, stage 3 port/polish, bowls blended
7. Custom ground Comp Cams roller cam, .513 lift, Duration @ .050 Intake 212
8. Stock length rear leaf spring shackles
9. 3-gauge cluster (not pictured)

10. Balanced 347 assembly - not yet purchased, but uh, ho-ho-ho :D
11. Roller rockers, 1.6 - same as above

So, been busy in the 'off season' - I expect to continue to acquire parts but won't swap the engine until FEB-MAR since my garage is unheated - need to lift, prep, spray before pluggin in the new heart.

Looking forward to a nice 'cruise' in April
